A hand-built wall piece. The figure on the iridescent rock is about 3 inches behind the "frame." The rock wall is made of rolled balls of clay held together by fusing the back side. The white yoga figure is merely a white glaze painted on an unglazed background that has been blacked during the smoking phase of a raku firing. 15x11x3.5 inches

Venus is the Roman name for Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, fertility, and sexual love. She is often described as the daughter of Zeus and Dione or as being born from the sea. I have chosen the “sea” as exemplified by the sea shells surrounding the suggestion of female.
