SOUL MADNESS
What wild reason
does the moth
fly to its death
in the candle flame?
Was it the inborn message
of it’s insect soul
directing it
to reincarnate.
Or suffer not
the pangs of age
that slowly cripple
leaving a chronic sting
in the mind…

than the quick
glorious death of fire.
Why would man
in love and comfort
sabotage himself
by stepping beyond
daily routines
into an unfamiliar fire?
What force drives
this madness?

Forcing its powers
to override body and mind.It is the dark side
searching for that experience
that has been impregnated
into the soul’s acorn.

overruling time and culture
caring not for rules,
defying containment,
lifetimes of assimilating…
of learning…

to communicate
with other souls.
Its destiny lies
in its process,
an ever expanding tunnel
connecting spirit to bodies.
