Limited to 10 students, ages 10 & up.  Starts AUGUST 23, 2012

(Minimum students needed to start class: 5)

Tuition:  $95

Materials fee:  $15  - Includes:

       clay (up to 25#),

            underglazes, glazes,

            use of tools and equipment,

            kiln firings (bisque and glaze),

            ceramics instruction manual

                                              Classes at  Makin Glass, 2908 Douglas Street  in Anderson  

 5 days for a total of 14 hours:  $95/14 = $6.79/hour!  Such a deal!

SCHEDULE         

                            Thursday  Aug 23- 6 PM TO 8:30 PM - Intro to Basic Clay/ History, Hand-built techniques - Pinch and coil.

                 Friday  Aug 24 - 6 PM TO 8:30 PM   - Slab constructions – introduction to slab roller, forms and textures.

                                                                      Saturday  Aug 25 - 9 AM TO 1PM   - Decoration – colorants, textures, slips and carving clay - Finish pieces and prepare for bisque (hardening) fire.

PIECES DRYING and BISQUE FIRE on Monday - no class

                                                                  Tuesday  Aug 28 - 6 PM TO 8:30 PM   - Review process, glazing basics, colorants - Decoration of bisque fired pieces using underglazes and glazes, prepare for glaze firing.

GLAZE FIRE on Wednesday - no class
      Thursday Aug 30 - 6 PM TO 8:30 PM   - Kiln opening and post-fire discussion, pot luck brunch.
